Classic Sugar Cookies Recipe

Follow the steps and bake yummy sugar cookies.

Mix sugar and butter together

To make the easiest sugar cookie recipe you will ever know, you only need three ingredients, so let’s get started. So we’re starting with 3/4 of a cup of room-temperature butter or margarine. If it’s not room temperature, you have to take it from the fridge to microwave it for about 10 seconds or so.

After that, we have half a cup of sugar that we will pour in. We just need to mix them together first before we get our flour into the mixture.

Add flour to the mixture

Which is the last component we need? As I promised, making these cookies couldn’t be simpler. So if we are ready with our sugar and butter, it is time for our flour. Take about two to two and 1/4 cups of flour that we’re going to shake in a little bit and then stir into the rest of the dough.

Once you’ve got your mixture, continue to stir until it creates a nice cookie dough. Just be careful and keep on stirring.

Note – You will get a nice ball of dough. Now, if your dough feels like it’s not working, you can wrap it in plastic and put it in the fridge for about 1/2 hour. However, if it looks like it’s working, you could go to the oven with it right away.

Bake the cookies

Preheat the oven to 325 and start breaking off pieces of the dough, rolling them into little balls, and placing them out. Take a cookie sheet covered with some wax paper. Now roll all your balls out and place them on your tray about an inch apart.

This recipe gives you about five across and four rows back, so that’s how much you should have on your tray. After that, we’ll flatten it out, so take the bottom of a standard old cup or anything like that from your kitchen, put a little flour on it, and then flatten out the cookies.

These super easy three-ingredient holiday sugar cookies go into a 325-degree oven for 20 minutes.

And then they’re done. And there you have it. Delicious, homemade three ingredients, practically foolproof sugar cookies for the holidays. You can always flatten them out a little bit more if you want to or cut them into different shapes and sizes, but they are super easy. They have no eggs in them.
